Ending 2023 with 6 new NHL player autographs. The grand total of unique NHL player autographs in my collection now stands at 7,430. Happy New Year everyone!
Ace Bailey (d. 1992)
Ace Bailey was a star player with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1926 to 1934. He led NHL in scoring in 1928-29 and in 1932 he helped Toronto win the Stanley Cup. His career was ended abruptly after a violent on ice incident with Eddie Shore. Bailey was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1975.
Jack Church (d. 1996)
From 1938 to 1946 defenseman Jack Church played 130 regular season games in the NHL between the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brooklyn Americans and Boston Bruins.
Clare "Rags" Raglan (d. 2002)
From 1950 to 1953 defenseman Rags Raglan played 100 games in the NHL between the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks. His son, Herb, also played in the NHL.
Vic Myles (d. 1983)
Vic Myles spent one season in the NHL, playing 45 games for the 1942-43 New York Rangers.
James "Kilby" MacDonald (d. 1986)
Kilby MacDonald had an exceptional rookie year in the NHL. With the 1939-40 New York Rangers MacDonald netted 28 points in 44 games, won the Calder Trophy as NHL's rookie of the year and ended the year with a Stanley Cup win. He never matched his rookie totals, only playing 4 seasons in the NHL.
Colin Blackwell
Colin Blackwell has played nearly 200 NHL games between the Nashville Predators, New York Rangers, Seattle Kraken, Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks. Blackwell was one of the last of the 2018-19 NHL debuts I needed. The very last one I need, Cale Makar, is on the way.
