Month of Mail - April 2022

11 new autographs to share from the month of April. The grand total of unique NHL player autographs in the collection is now 7,197. I recently added the 2019/2020 year of debuts so 130 new names were added to the overall grand total to chase. That grand total is currently 7,197 / 8,024 for 90% overall.

                            Shawn MacKenzie

Goalie Shawn MacKenzie played 6 NHL games with the 1982/83 New Jersey Devils. He later became a successful coach in the QJMHL with the Halifax Mooseheads.

                       Bingo Kampman (d. 1987)

From 1937 to 1942 defenseman Rudolph "Bingo" Kampman was a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He helped the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup in 1942 but soon after left to serve in WWII and never returned to the NHL.

                   Jake Guentzel 

Jake Guentzel is a two time 40 goal scorer who helped the Penguins win the Stanley Cup in 2017. He was named to the NHL All-Star team in 2020 and 2022.

                   Samuel Girard

Defenseman Samuel Girard has played well over 300 games in the NHL. He started with the Nashville Predators but has spent most of his career with the Colorado Avalanche.

                     Filip Chytil

Filip Chytil has played over 250 NHL games with the New York Rangers. The Czech forward represented his country at the World Championships in 2018 and 2021. 

                   Nico Hischier

Nico Hischier is well known for being the 1st overall pick of the 2017 NHL draft. He's already scored over 200 points in 300 NHL games with the Devils.

                   Christoffer Ehn

From 2018 to 2020 Swedish forward Christoffer Ehn scored 13 points in 114 NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings.

                    Filip Hronek

Defenseman Filip Hronek just completed his fourth season in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings. He's represented the Czech Republic at the World Championship in 2018, 2019 and 2021. In 2019 he was named the tournament's best defenseman.

                     Roope Hintz

Finnish forward Roope Hintz has become a top player with the Dallas Stars. He scored 37 goals and 72 points with the 2021/22 Stars. 

                Jonas Siegenthaler

Defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler has played 4 seasons in the NHL between the Washington Capitals and New Jersey Devils. He represented Switzerland at the 2021 World Championships.

                   Dominic Toninato

Dominic Toninato has played 164 NHL games between the Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers and Winnipeg Jets.

                     Patrik Allvin

Patrik Allvin played professional hockey in the IHL and ECHL but was never close to reaching the NHL as a player. He later worked his way up the Pittsburgh Penguins organization and in 2022 he was hired as General Manager of the Vancouver Canucks. This goes with my collection of NHL coaches and GMs who never played in the league.

                   Victoria Bach

Victoria Bach helped Canada win Gold at the 2021 World Championships and 2022 Olympics. This goes with my collection of women in hockey autographs.
