Over 50 New Graphs Starring The Great One

I've acquired 53 new autographs since the last post.  The grand total now stands at 3,840.  Just over 7,000 players have played in the league so I'm well past the 50% mark now. This mail post is a mix of certified autographs, TTM requests and deceased player autographs that I acquired and doctored into my standard design.  I'm in the midst of a big move so it will be a little while until my next mail post but when I do it should be big.  The 4,000 mark is well within reach.

Wayne Gretzky
I need not say anything about the greatest hockey player to ever play the game.  I was finally able to add a Gretzky autograph to my collection and for a solid price.  I'm super happy about this one.

Nail Yakupov
A sub-par season with the Oilers have brought the value of Yakupov's autographs down so far that I surprised myself and won this nice hard signed card with a rather small opening bid.  The Russian forward was drafted 1st overall by the Oilers in 2012.

Tyler Seguin
Drafted 2nd overall by the Boston Bruins in 2010, Tyler Seguin immediately jumped to the NHL and won the 2011 Stanley Cup.  He reached the final again with Boston in 2013 but lost to the Hawks.  That offseason he was shipped to the Dallas Stars.  In 2013/2014 as a Star he finished 4th overall in league scoring with 37 goals and 84 points.

Dale Tallon
Between 1970 and 1980 Dale Tallon played well over 600 games in the NHL.  He was drafted 2nd overall in 1970 and was named to team Canada's 1972 Summit Series team.  He's since become an NHL general manager and won the 2010 Stanley Cup with Chicago.

Mike Murphy
I have a large stash of ITG Franchises autographs but this particular one has been on my want list since the product was released.  Between 1972 and 1983 Mike Murphy played nearly 900 regular season+playoff games in the NHL.  He spent most of his career in LA and was a long time team captain but also dressed for St. Louis and the New York Rangers.  He later returned to the NHL as a head coach with both the LA Kings and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Kevin McClelland
As a member of the Edmonton Oilers Kevin McClelland won the Stanley Cup in 1984, 1985, 1987 and 1988.  Between 1981 and 1994 he played 588 regular season and 98 playoff games in the NHL.

Tim Hunter
Tough guy Tim Hunter played 815 regular season and 132 playoff games in the NHL between 1981 and 1997.  He won the Stanley Cup in 1989 with Calgary and later returned to the finals as a member of the 1994 Canucks.  He's been an NHL assistant coach since 1997.

Jim Nill
Between 1981 and 1990 Jim Nill played nearly 600 regular season+playoff games in the NHL.  He played for the Blues, Canucks, Bruins, Jets and Red Wings.  After retiring as a player he won the 1997, 1998, 2002 and 2008 Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings.  He's currently the general manager of the Dallas Stars.

Darin Kimble
From 1988 to 1995 Darin Kimble played well over 300 games in the NHL and racked up over 1000 penalty minutes.  He played for the Nordiques, Blues, Bruins and Blackhawks.

Aaron Downey
From 1999 to 2009 Aaron Downey played 248 regular season+playoff games in the NHL.  He was largely and enforcer, scoring only 8 goals but accumulating nearly 500 penalty minutes.  He played for the Bruins, Blackhawks, Stars, Blues, Canadiens and Red Wings.

Magnus Johansson
Magnus Johansson started his pro hockey career in Sweden back in 1990.  He did not come to the NHL until 2007.  As a 33 year old rookie he split his only season in the NHL between the 2007/2008 Chicago Blackhawks and Florida Panthers.

Mike Rupp
Since 2002 Mike Rupp has played well over 600 games in the NHL.  He's played for the Devils, Coyotes, Thrashers, Blue Jackets, Penguins, Rangers and Wild.  He captured the Stanley Cup in 2003 as a New Jersey Devil, scoring the Cup clinching goal.  He only has a couple certified autographs on the market so I was glad to see Panini recently release this card, which I acquired cheaply.

Max Pacioretty
Max Pacioretty was drafted by the Canadiens in the first round of the 2007 NHL draft.  He made his debut in 2008 and has since played over 300 games for Montreal.  He scored a career high 39 goals during the 2013/2014 season.

Garrett Stafford
An undrafted University of New Hampshire graduate, Garrett Stafford played 7 games in the NHL.  He played 2 games for the 2007/08 Red Wings, 3 games for the 2008/09 Dallas Stars and 2 games for the 2010/11 Phoenix Coyotes.

Troy Brouwer
Troy Brouwer has very few certified autographs on the market so I'm glad to add this one.  He's played 500+ regular season+playoff games in the NHL. He won the 2010 Stanley Cup with Chicago.

Joe Pavelski
With 41 goals scored through the 2013/2014 season Joe Pavelski has become an NHL star.  He's scored 20+ goals a season 5 times and represented the USA at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics.

Jakob Silfverberg
Jakov Silfverberg has played over 100 NHL games since 2012.  He made his debut with the Senators but was acquired by the Anaheim Ducks in the Bobby Ryan trade.

Nikita Filatov
Drafted 6th overall by the Blue Jackets in 2008, Nikita Filatov only scored 6 goals and 14 points in 53 career NHL games.  The Russian forward played for Columbus and the Ottawa Senators.  He's a golden example of why I don't tend to buy top prospect autographs, the value dropping from expensive to almost nothing.

Shawn Hunwick
Shawn Hunwick was an undrafted University of Michigan grad signed by the Blue Jackets in 2011.  He played a grand total of 3 minutes in a single NHL game for the 2011/2012 Blue Jackets.  He didn't face a single shot in one of the NHL's shortest careers.  He retired as a player in 2013.

Drew Bagnall
Defenceman Drew Bagnall played 2 games for the 2010/2011 Minnesota Wild.  He was originally drafted by the Dallas Stars in 2003.

Shane Sims
An Ohio State University grad, Shane Sims played 1 game in the NHL with the 2010/2011 New York Islanders. He had singed a one-day tryout contract with the Islanders when injuries riddles their defence late into the season.

Alexander Sulzer
Between 2009 and 2014 Alexander Sulzer played 131 games in the NHL.  He suited up for the Predators, Panthers, Canucks and Sabres.

Kent Huskins
Orignially drafted by the Blackhawks in 1998, Kent Huskins attended Clarkson University for four years and didn't make his NHL debut until the 2006/2007 season.  He won the Stanley Cup in 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks.  He's played over 300 NHL games while dressing for the Ducks, Sharks, Blues, Red Wings and Flyers. I'm amazed he didn't get a certified autograph at some point.
