Big Month of October with 87 New Signatures

There was a tremendous amount of mail lately and I've added 87 new autographs to my quest for a unique signature of ever NHL player.  The grand total now stands at 3,397 unique John Hancocks.

Bill Goldsworthy and Dave Silk
Having just finished reading Bill Goldsworthy's autobiography I am very happy to finally add his signature to my collection.  He died in 1996 from Aids and this 1991 Future Trends autograph is the only one he has on the market.  Goldy was an interesting personality who is best known for being a member of the 1972 Summit Series.
After winning Olympic Gold in 1980 Dave Silk went on to play over 250 games in the NHL.  He dressed for the Rangers, Bruins, Red Wings and Jets.
Ed Belfour and Peter Sidorkiewicz
Ed Belfour was one of the most well known goaltenders of his generation.  In 1991 he won the Vezina, Jennings and Calder as rookie of the year.  He would win the Jennings 3 more times and the Vezina as goalie of the year again in 1993.  He later helped the Dallas Stars win the Stanley Cup in 1999.
ITG trading cards recently issued Peter Sidorkiewicz's first certified autograph cards.  He played 250+ games in the NHL between the Whalers, Senators and Devils.  He represented Ottawa at the 1993 NHL All-Star game.
Dimitri Patzold and Mathieu Chouinard
Dimitri Patzold appeared in 3 games for the 2007/08 San Jose Sharks to play a grand total of 44 minutes in the NHL.  Born in Kazakhstan he has spent most of his career playing in Europe.
Mathieu Chouinard has one of the shortest NHL careers ever.  He appeared in 1 game for the 2003/04 LA Kings, seeing only 2 minutes of playing time but allowing no goals against.
Nolan Yonkman and Chris Nielsen
These two Bowman CHL autographs are tough to find.  Nolan Yonkman has played in the NHL as recently as 12/13 with the Florida Panthers.  He's dressed in 74 games since making his debut with the 01/02 Washington Capitals.
Between 2000 and 2002 Chris Nielsen played in 52 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets.  Although his family moved to Canada when he was three Nielsen was born in Tanzania.
Bernie Nicholls and Joey Kocur
When Wayne Gretzky was traded to the LA Kings Bernie Nicholls was one of many Kings who reaped the benefits of playing with the best player of all time.  Nicholls scored a career high 70 goals and 150 points for the 1988/89 Los Angeles Kings.  Although Nicholls played over 1000 games and was on 3 All-Star teams he never won a major award.
Tough guy Joey Kocur was penalized for over 2500 minutes through 800+ games.  He won a Stanley Cup with the 1994 Rangers, 1997 Red Wings, 1998 Red Wings and the 2002 Red Wings as a  video coach.
Colton Orr and John LeClair
Colton Orr doesn't have a huge amount of autographs on the market so I was happy to add this one for a steal at only a couple dollars.  Orr has gained a loyal following as the Leaf's primary enforcer since 2009.  He has well over 1000 penalty minutes in the NHL.
John LeClair was once a star NHL player, scoring 50+ goals in a season on 3 separate occasions.  He was a 5 time NHL All-Star who also won the Stanley Cup as a member of the 1993 Montreal Canadiens.
Carter Ashton and Jason Zucker
A former first round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Carter Ashton made his NHL debut with the 2011/12 Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jason Zucker has thus far appeared in 30+ games for the Minnesota Wild.  He was born in California but raised in Las Vegas, demonstrating the new reach hockey has in the US.
Craig Smith and Cal Clutterbuck
University of Wisconsin alumni Craig Smith is entering his third season as a regular on the Nashville Predators.
Currently a New York Islander, Cal Clutterbuck played 5 full seasons for the Minnesota Wild.  He set a league record with 356 hits in 08/09.
Jordan Caron and Taylor Beck
Since 2010 Jordan Caron has played nearly 100 games for the Boston Bruins.  He was their first round pick in 2009.
Taylor Beck was recalled to the Nashville Predators for 16 games in 2012/13.  He scored 3 goals and 7 points.
Chris Terry and Boone Jenner
Chris Terry played 3 games for the 2012/2013 Carolina Hurricanes.
A surprise addition to the 2013/14 Columbus Blue Jackets, Boone Jenner has started the season with the team and already has a number of NHL games played.
Marian Hossa and Daniel Sedin
Marian Hossa has scored well over 400 goals in the NHL.  He's a 6 time NHL All-Star who has won the Stanley Cup twice, in 2010 and 2013.
Daniel Sedin won the 2011 Art Ross as the NHL's leading scorer.  He's played a dozen seasons in the NHL and won an Olympic gold medal in 2006 with team Sweden.  I was long overdue to get this signature as I've had Hank's for a couple years already and they look much better together.
Brett Sutter and Jiri Novotny
With Brett's autograph I now have a signature of all eight Sutter family members to make the NHL.  Son of Darryl, Brett is currently a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.
Between 2005 and 2009 Czech native Jiri Novotny played in just under 200 NHL games while dressing for the Sabres, Capitals and Blue Jackets.
Georges Laraque and Cody Franson
Georges Laraque spent over a decade as one of the most feared fighters in the NHL.
Cody Franson has played 250+ NHL games between the Nashville Predators and his current team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Ales Hemsky and Jarret Stoll
Ales Hemsky is playing his twelfth season with the Edmonton Oilers, who drafted him 13th overall in 2001.  At one point in his career he was a point per game player.
Jarret Stoll won the Stanley Cup in 2012 as a member of the Los Angeles Kings.
Erik Gudbranson and Jaden Schwartz
Drafted 3rd overall by the Florida Panthers in 2010, defenseman Erik Gudbranson has quietly played over 100 NHL games.

Drafted 4th overall in 2010, Ryan Johansen made the Blue Jacket's roster as an 18 year old.  His stock has fallen since that early debut but he has already played100+ NHL games.

Dennis Seidenberg has spent over a decade in the NHL.  He has played for the Flyers, Coyotes, Hurricanes, Panthers and Bruins.  He won a Stanley Cup with Boston in 2011.
Andy Wozniewski

Joe Motzko and Richard Petiot
Between 2004 and 2009 Joe Motzko saw 25 games of NHL action.  He dressed for the Blue Jackets, Ducks, Capitals and Thrashers.  He played 3 games for the Ducks, all during their 2007 Stanley Cup playoff run.  This was enough to get his name engraved on the Cup.
Richard Petiot played 2 games for the 05/06 LA Kings, 11 games for the 08/09 Tampa Bay Lightning and most recently 2 games for the 10/11 Edmonton Oilers.
Bryan Helmer and Bryan Adams

Grant Martin
As it sometimes happens when I pull photographs from the internet Grant Martin's index was made with a player that wasn't him.  Martin, who played 45 NHL games between the Canucks and Capitals, was nice enough to include this little signed card.  It will do just fine for my collection.

As usual I have a few more hockey autographs to show of individuals who never played in the NHL.

John Harrington
Having never made it to the NHL John Harrington will be best known for being a member of the 1980 USA Miracle on Ice team.
