End of April's Mail

No big names in this batch but some quality signatures. The new autographs come from some TTM returns and a few purchases. Unfortunately, my overall TTM returns rate remains dismal for 2017. I'll note that the Hans Jonsson autograph came from a great little European site for SHL Elitset cards, coolcards. Great place to find impossible to locate Euro cards and I've acquired a few signatures from this site. Fast shipping, reasonable prices.

With 13 new NHL autographs added, the grand total of unique NHL player signatures now stands at 5,339 for 71.5% of everyone to ever play in the league.

Brian MacLellan
From 1982 to 1992 Brian MacLellan suited up in over 600 regular season NHL games. He spent time with the Kings, Rangers, North Stars, Flames and Red Wings. He's notable for winning the Stanley Cup in 1989 with the Flames. Since 2014, MacLellan has been GM of the Washington Capitals.

Tom McCarthy
From 1979 to 1988 Tom McCarthy played 460 regular season and 68 playoff games in the NHL. His best season was in 1983/84, when he scored 39 goals and 70 points in just 66 games with the North Stars. He was also named to the 1983 NHL All-Star team that season. A few years after his hockey career had ended, McCarthy was actually sentenced to five years in prison for driving a truck full of weed across the States.

Normand Rochefort
From 1980 to 1994 Normand Rochefort played 600 games in the NHL. He spent most of that time with the Quebec Nordiques but was also a member of the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning. The defensive defenceman scored over 150 points in the NHL. He played for Canada at the 1987 Canada Cup, noting it as a career highlight. It was a big accomplishment to make such a star studded lineup.

Steve Cardwell
From 1970 to 1973 Steve Cardwell scored 9 goals and 20 points in 53 career NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He also played a couple seasons in the WHA, scoring 23 goals and 46 points in 77 games with the 1973/74 Minnesota Fighting Saints.

Hans Jonsson
Swedish defenceman Hans Jonsson was drafted by the Penguins in 1993 in the 11th round, 286th overall. He came over to North America in 1999 and was with the Penguins until 2003. He played 242 regular season games in the NHL, all with Pittsburgh. Internationally, in 1998 he won Gold at the World Championships with Sweden and in 1999 he took home bronze.

Wes O'Neill
From 2008 to 2010 Wes O'Neill played 5 games in the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche. The defenceman had originally been drafted by the New York Islanders in 2004 and spent four years at Notre Dame.

Jesse Winchester
From 2008 to 2014 Jesse Winchester played nearly 300 games in the NHL, dressing with the Sens and Panthers. He was signed by the Senators as a free agent after 4 years at Colgate University. Winchester was forced to retire due to concussion problems. He had a signed a two year contract with the Colorado Avalanche in 2014 but injuries saw him never suit up for the club.

Jared Ross
From 2008 to 2010 Jared Ross played 13 regular season and 9 playoff games in the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers. He's notable for being the first person born and raised in Alabama to play in the NHL, playing four years of college hockey in the State.

Patrick Rissmiller
From 2003 to 2011 Pat Rissmiller played 192 regular season games in the NHL, scoring 18 goals and 46 points. He dressed for the San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers, Atlanta Thrashers and Florida Panthers. He currently serves as development coach with the New Jersey Devils.

Robert Schnabel
From 2001 to 2004 Czech defenceman Robert Schnabel played 22 games in the NHL with the Nashville Predators. Internationally, he represented his country at the 1998 World Junior Championships.

Petr Tenkrat
Czech Petr Tenkrat played 177 games in the NHL, spending a season with the 00/01 Anaheim Mighty Ducks, 01/02 Nashville Predators and 06/07 Boston Bruins. Internationally, in 2006 he won Silver at the World Championships with the Czech Republic and in 2012 he helped his country take home bronze.

Stefan Bergkvist
Drafted 26th overall in 1993, from 1995 to 1997 Swedish defenceman Stefan Bergkvist played 7 regular season and 4 playoff games in the NHL with the team who had drafted him, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Ryan Jardine
Ryan Jardine recorded 2 assists in 8 career NHL games with the 2001/02 Florida Panthers. He played pro until 2014.

Autographs #14 and #15 from the post fall outside of the NHL player collection. One here for the WHA Only collection and another for the female hockey players collection.

Ralph Hopiavouri
From 1972 to 1975 Ralph Hopiavouri played 70 regular season and 12 playoff games in the WHA. He was a member of the Cleveland Crusaders and Indianapolis Racers. Wrote a great little note to me about playing against Gordie Howe and how it was a personal highlight.

Sarah Davis
Sarah Davis has played on the 2015, 2016 and 2017 World Championships with Canada. Davis took home Silver all three times. I've been ever so slowly picking away at the Women's certified autographs. I like the look of these cards but hate how thick they are. Makes it hard to store them in binders.
