Month of Mail - July 2023

July 2023 saw 9 new NHL player autographs added. The grand total of unique NHL player autographs I've been able to find is now 7,379 for 92% of everyone to ever play in the league. 

                         Reg Noble (d. 1962)

Reg Noble played in the newly formed NHL during the 1917-18 season with the Toronto Arenas, ending the year with a Stanley Cup championship. He won the Cup again in 1922 and 1926. He was captain of the Toronto St. Pats from 1920 to 1924. Noble was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1962. 

                           Hooley Smith (d. 1963)

From 1924 to 1941 Hooley Smith played over 700 games in the NHL, scoring over 200 goals and over 400 points. He won the Stanley Cup in 1927 with the Senators and in 1935 with the Maroons. He was captain of the Maroons from 1932 to 1936. He's also notable for helping Canada bring home Gold from the 1924 Olympics. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972.

                       Paul Goodman (d. 1959)

Paul Goodman made his NHL debut in the 1938 playoffs with Chicago as a relief netminder. He played in only one game before he was sent back to the stands. The Hawks went on to win the Cup and Goodman's one game, a lost, got his name on the the trophy. Goodman went on to play 52 games with Chicago over 2 NHL seasons. 

        Percy "Perk" Galbraith (d. 1961)

Park Galbraith played in the NHL from 1926 to 1934. He helped the Bruins win the Stanley Cup in 1929. 

                               Tim Coulis

From 1979 to 1986 Tim Coulis played 47 games in the NHL between the Washington Capitals and Minnesota North Stars.

                               Steve Hazlett

Steve Hazlett played 1 game in the NHL with the 1979-80 Vancouver Canucks.

                  Bob Dawes (d. 2003)

Bob Dawes played 32 regular season and 10 playoff games in the NHL between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens. He's most notable for winning the Stanley Cup in 1949 with Toronto.

                    Joona Luoto

Joona Luoto played 16 games in the NHL with the 2019-20 Winnipeg Jets. He went back to Finland then returned to the NHL with the 2022-23 Columbus Blue Jackets, playing 7 games with the club.

                  Mathieu Olivier

Mathieu Olivier has played over 100 games in the NHL between the Nashville Predators and Columbus Blue Jackets.
