Ron Stewart
Ron Stewart played 1,353 regular season games in the NHL between 1952 and 1973. He won the Stanley Cup 3 times as a Toronto Maple Leaf. He later returned to the NHL as a head coach with the Rangers and LA Kings. Stewart passed away in 2012 and this is his only certified autograph card. I also got my hands on a Sid Smith from the same set but that was just an upgrade, not a new autograph, so I won't be showing it off on this post.
Rick Martin
What a beautiful looking autograph Rick Martin has. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago at only 59. Martin was a 7 time NHL All-Star with the Buffalo Sabres and scored 50+ goals a season twice. He was a member of the famous French Connection line with Gilbert Perreault and Rene Robert.
Mark Johnson
With this and the Eric Strobel in this post I now have a certified signature of every member of the 1980 USA Miracle team. Mark Johnson was one of the best players of the Gold medal winning team. He scored 500+ points in the NHL, was an NHL All-Star and served as captain of the Hartford Whalers.
Brian Engblom
Brian Engblom made his NHL debut in the playoffs with the 1976/77 Montreal Canadiens. The team won the Stanley Cup but with only 2 games played Engblom's name was left off the trophy. That wasn't the case in 1978 and 1979 when became a full time Canadien and won the Stanley Cup both years. The Defenceman was named to the NHL's 1982 All-Star team as a Hab. He later played with the Capitals, Kings, Sabres and Flames before retiring in 1987. He's currently a colour analyst for the Winnipeg Jets.
Doug Jarvis
Ironman Doug Jarvis didn't miss a single NHL game from 1975 to 1987. He won the Stanley Cup four times as a Montreal Canadien; 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979. In 1984 he was awarded the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the NHL's best defensive forward. In 1987 he won the NHL's Bill Masterton Trophy. Jarvis later won the Stanley Cup in 1999 and 2011 as an assistant coach with the Dallas Stars and Boston Bruins.
Zdeno Chara
A six time NHL All-Star, three time Olympian, 2009 Norris winner and 2011 Stanley Cup winner, Zdeno Chara has a lengthy resume. The Slovakian has been captain of the Boston Bruins since 2011. For someone as notable as Zdeno Chara, he has very few certified signatures on the market.
Ilya Kovalchuk
Russian sniper Ilya Kovalchuk was drafted 1st overall by the Thrashers in 2001. He's a four time NHL All-Star, Olympic bronze medalist, 2004 Rocket Richard Trophy winner and former captain of the Atlanta Thrashers. The value of his stuff drops the longer he stays in the KHL and I was finally able to snap up his autograph for just a few dollars.
Henrik Tallinder
I've had my eye on this card for a while on COMC. The seller accepted my best offer and although I still believe I overpaid, I'm happy to find Tallinder's only certified autograph. Its limited to just 50 copies and they don't show up often. Henrik Tallinder played well over 700 regular season+playoff games in the NHL. He dressed with the Buffalo Sabres and New Jersey Devils. In 2010 he helped Sweden win an Olympic Silver medal.
Marian Gaborik
Marian Gaborik has a ton of autographs on the market but with a fierce fan following, they aren't dirt cheap. The Slovakian sniper was selected 3rd overall by the Wild in 2000. He's a 3 time NHL All-Star and in 2014 won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Los Angeles Kings.
Jiri Fischer
From 1999 to 2005 defenceman Jiri Fischer played 300+ NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings. He won the Stanley Cup in 2002. His career ended suddenly when his heart briefly stopped during a game. He was forced to retire in the prime of his career.
Nicklas Backstrom
Swedish forward Nicklas Backstrom was drafted 4th overall by the Washington Capitals in 2006. In 577 career regular season NHL games with the Caps he's scored 572 points. He recorded 101 during the 2009/10 season alone. Backstrom has represented Sweden twice in the Olympics and in 2014, after some controversy, he won a Silver medal.
Drew Doughty
The Los Angeles Kings selected Drew Doughty 2nd overall in 2008. Widely regarded as one of the best defencemen in the NHL, Doughty won the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014. He also helped Canada win Olympic Gold in 2010 and 2014.
This is a personal favourite of mine because I've been looking for it for a long time. Its Klein's only certified autograph. Since 2005 defenceman Kevin Klein has played nearly 500 regular season games in the NHL between the Predators and Rangers.
Ryan McDonagh
Ryan McDonagh was drafted 12th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2007 but was traded to the Rangers in the Scott Gomez trade of 2009. In 2014 McDonagh was named the 27th captain in New York Rangers history. That year he also represented USA at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Nicklas Jensen
What a horrible signature! Nicklas Jensen was drafted by the Canucks in the first round of the 2011 NHL draft. He's played 24 games in the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks since making his debut for the 2012/13 team.
Mark Barberio
Mark Barberio is an offensive minded defenceman who lead the AHL in points by a D man in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. He was a league All-Star both seasons. Since 2012 he's played 100+ games in the NHL with Tampa Bay.
Reto Berra
Reto Berra was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in 2006 but didn't come to North America until his rights were acquired by the Calgary Flames in 2013. The Swiss goalie has played 50 NHL games between the Flames and Colorado Avalanche. He played in the 2014 Olympics with Switzerland.
Ben Hanowski
Ben Hanowski was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins but made his way to Calgary in the Jarome Iginla trade. The St. Cloud State alumni has played 16 games with the Flames since 2013.
Greg McKegg
A third round pick of the Leafs from 2010, Greg McKegg has played 4 games with Toronto since making his debut with the 2013/14 club.
Chris Tierney
A 2012 second round pick, Chris Tierney played 43 games with San Jose in his first season in the league, 2014/15.
Stanislav Galiev
Stanislav Galiev played two games with the Washington Capitals at the very end of the 2014/15 season and scored one goal. The Russian was drafted in 86th overall by the Capitals in 2010.
Ryan Hartman
A 2013 NHL first round draft pick, Ryan Hartman played 5 games with the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2014/15 season.
Chad Rau
Originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2005, Chad Rau spent four years at Colorado College before being signed by the Minnesota Wild as a free agent in 2010. He scored 2 goals in 9 career NHL games with the 2011/12 Wild. This particular card is notable for being Rau's only certified autograph.
Elias Lindholm
Elias Lindholm was drafted 5th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2013. He's already played 139 games in the NHL. His father, Mikael, briefly played in the NHL with the LA Kings.
David Broll
David Broll recorded one assist in five career NHL games with the 2013/14 Toronto Maple Leafs. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2015 but has yet to dress with the club.
Linden Vey
Linden Vey made his NHL debut with the 2013/14 Los Angeles Kings but didn't spend enough time with the team to earn his name on the Stanley Cup. He was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in the summer of 2014 and spent entire 2014/15 season in the NHL with the Canucks. He's played almost 100 games in the NHL.
Radko Gudas
From 2012 to 2015 defenceman Radko Gudas played 125+ NHL games with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was recently traded to the Philadelphia Flyers. Gudas represented the Czech Republic at the 2014 Olympics.
Darcy Kuemper
Before Deven Dubnyk stole the show Darcy Kuemper was the hot goalie in Minnesota. He's played over 60 games with the Wild since 2013.
Patrick Bordeleau
Forward Patrick Bordeleau was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in 2004. He spent a few years playing pro before making his NHL debut with the 2012/13 Colorado Avalanche. Two different injuries limited him to just one hockey game during the 2014/15 season.
Marek Mazanec
Czech goalie Marek Mazanec has played 27 games in the NHL with the Nashville Predators since making his NHL debut during the 2013/14 season.
Connor Murphy
The Coyotes drafted defenceman Connor Murphy 20th overall in 2011. Since making his debut with the 2013/14 Coyotes he's become an NHL regular and has already played 100+ games in the league. He recently won a bronze medal with Team USA at the 2015 World Championships. His father is former NHLer Gord Murphy.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau
Since 2013 Jean-Gabriel Pageau has played over 100 regular season+playoff games in the NHL with the Ottawa Senators.
Dylan McIlrath
Drafted 10th overall in 2010, Dylan McIlrath has played just three NHL games with the New York Rangers. The 6.05' defenceman is a tough customer and continues to develop.
Tanner Pearson
Los Angeles' first round pick of the 2012 NHL draft, Tanner Pearson made his NHL debut during the 2013 NHL playoffs. He scored four goals and 12 points in 24 games during the 2014 playoffs as the Kings captured the Stanley Cup.
Joey Hishon
Joey Hishon was drafted 17th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in 2010. He made his NHL debut during the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs. He played over a dozen games for the 2014/15 Avalanche. Hishon missed nearly two full years of hockey due to concussion related problems since being drafted, it seems his autograph may have been affected...
Michael Bournival
Michael Bournival captained the Shawinigan Cataractes to a 2012 Memorial Cup championship. He's since played over 100 regular season+playoff games in the NHL with the Habs.
Will Acton
An undrafted forward, Will Acton spent four seasons at Lake Superior State University before being signed as a free agent by the AHL's Toronto Marlies. Acton later signed with the Oilers and from 2013-2015 he played 33 games in the NHL with Edmonton. His father, Keith, was a long time NHLer.
Phillip Danault
Chicago's first round pick of the 2011 NHL draft, Phillip Danault played two games with the club during the 2014/15 NHL season.
Andrej Nestrasil
I remember watching Andrej Nestrasil when he played for the Prince Edward Island Rocket. The 2009 Detroit draft pick made his NHL debut with the 2014/15 Red Wings. He played 13 games with Detroit before being claimed off waiver by the Carolina Hurricanes. Nestrasil was given a bigger role in Carolina and played 41 games for them, scoring 7 goals and 18 points.
Nicolas Deschamps
The Anaheim Ducks drafted Nicolas Deschamps 35th overall in 2008. He was later traded to the Maple Leafs and then the Capitals. He made his NHL debut with Washington in 2013/14, playing three games with the club.
David Musil
Defeceman David Musil was drafted 31st overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2011. He played four games with the 2014/15 Oilers. Born in Canada, he's represented the Czech Republic in International play. His father, Frank, also played in the NHL.
Petr Straka
Czech Petr Straka was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2010 but was never signed by the team. In 2013 the Philadelphia Flyers signed Straka to a three-year deal. He recorded two assists in three NHL games with the 2014/15 Flyers.
Duncan Siemens
Duncan Siemens played one NHL game with the Colorado Avalanche towards the end of the 2014/15 season. The defenceman was drafted 11th overall by the Avalanche in 2011.
Adam Lowry
In 2014/15 Adam Lowry played 80 regular season games with the Winnipeg Jets in his first year in the league. He scored 11 goals and 23 points as an NHL rookie. His father, Dave, played over 1000 games in the NHL.
Rob Collins
From 1998 to 2002 Rob Collins played for Ferris State University. The undrafted forward was signed by the New York Islanders in 2003. He played 8 career NHL games with the 2005/06 Islanders, scoring one goal and one assist.
Troy Bodie
Troy Bodie was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in 2003. He made his NHL debut with the 2008/09 Anaheim Ducks. Since then he's played 150+ NHL games between the Ducks, Hurricanes and Maple Leafs.
Brad Schlegel
Defenceman Brad Schlegel played 55 regular season+playoff games in the NHL between 1991 and 1994. He played for the Washington Capitals and Calgary Flames. He's most notable for being a member of Canada's 1992 and 1994 Olympic hockey teams. He brought home a silver medal on both occasions.
Lou Crawford
Between 1989 and 1992 Lou Crawford played 26 NHL games with the Boston Bruins. He's the brother of former NHL head coach Marc Crawford.
Christian Tanguay
Christian Tanguay played two games in the NHL with the 1981/82 Quebec Nordiques.
Perry Turnbull
Perry Turnbull was the 2nd overall pick of the great 1979 NHL draft. He scored 30+ goals a season three times with the St. Louis Blues. Turbull played 600+ NHL games between the Blues, Canadiens and Jets. His son, Travis, has recently played in the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres.
Gerry Meehan
Between 1968 and 1979 Gerry Meehan played 680 regular season+playoff games in the NHL. He dressed with the Flyers, Maple Leafs, Sabres, Canucks, Flames and Capitals. He was captain of the Buffalo Sabres from 1971 to 1974. He returned to the Sabres after retiring as a player and from 1986 to 1993 served as the Sabres' general manager.
Al Johnson
Al Johnson played two games for the 1956/57 Montreal Canadiens and then 100+ games for the Detroit Red Wings between 1960 and 1963. He scored 21 goals and 49 points in 105 career NHL regular season games.
Chick Webster
John "Chick" Webster played 14 NHL games with the 1949/50 New York Rangers.

Eric Strobel
Eric Strobel was a member of the famed 1980 USA "Miracle" Gold medal winning team. He was a great hockey player and was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres but never made it to The Show. After just a handful of games with Buffalo's AHL team Strobel retired from the game in 1980 to pursue other career options. His father, Art, briefly played in the NHL with the NY Rangers in the 1940s.
Johan Gustafsson
Johan Gustafsson dressed as a backup goalie 9 times with the Minnesota Wild between 2013 and 2014.
Bryan Pitton
February, 2010 Bryan Pitton dressed as the Edmonton Oilers' backup goalie for three games.
Jason Missiaen
October, 2013 6.08' giant Jason Missiaen dressed as backup goalie for the New York Ranges in three NHL games. Missiaen was originally drafted by the Montreal Canadiens but was left unsigned by the team.
Harri Sateri
Finnish goalie Harri Sateri dressed as a backup goalie in one NHL game with the 2011/12 San Jose Sharks. He spent 4 seasons playing AHL hockey for San Jose before going back to Europe.
J-F Racine
Jean-Francois Racine dressed as backup goalie for the Toronto Maple Leafs once during the 2006/2007 NHL season. He spent five seasons playing for hockey for the Leafs in the minors.
Oscar Dansk
The Columbus Blue Jackets drafted Oscar Dansk 31st overall in 2012. He dressed as a backup goalie for one game with the 2014/15 Columbus Blue Jackets.
